Sunday Oct. 18 I came back from the back of the farm after hunting til dark to find my Dad and I's barn on fire. I first moved my truck with a lot of my work equipment in it because that is what I was closest to as I came up the hill. I then ran around the barn which was 100' X 100' to look for my Dad who had been working on a dump truck inside. I couldn't see much because the complete structure was on fire. I had heard what sounded like gun shots and one big explosion while I was hunting but never thought much about it, people shoot guns and little homemade cannons around all the time. I was really worried my Dad was in the barn but he came walking up behind me as I was trying to find him. Next, I started looking in the fire for my dogs, two were chained up to posts on the barn and one was in the back of my other truck by the barn. I saw one chain with nothing on the end of it. I looked in the back of my truck to make sure the one in it was not cowered down scared to get out. I didn't see any dogs, but the front passenger side of my other truck was on fire so I started to get some tools and stuff out of the back. Just as I was grabbing my wacker jumping jack tamper some little pip squeek cop cam running out yelling and grabbed me along with some big fat dude telling me I had to get back. They drug me out into the cornfield and told me if I didn't listen to them they were going to arrest me. So I argued and yelled at them and finally the fire dept. showed up and let me go move my car before it burned too. By this time the tools in my truck were already gone. In the end I lost a 2008 F350, 1872 boat with 16 hp fan 3ft prop, 100 hp outboard, nice big platform, dg 7000e dewalt generator, oneida osprey, oneida eagle, fishawk bow and two bows my wife's little brothers had. Of course, I had a good stock of arrows and reels as anyone knows you have to have. not insured A 2002 kawasaki 1100 zxi. not insured. My Dad got off really bad. 2005 F350, 32' Forrest River travel trailer, john deere lawnmower, utility tractor, 4010, 4wd john deere tractor, john deere model b tractor, grain truck, dump truck, two welders, three torches and a grain bin full of corn harvested the week prior along with all tools we have accumulated so far in life. I sure hope the lottery treats me well so I can replace all of Dads stuff and of course the bowfishing stuff before spring. I just had to whine for a little bit, I feel a little better now.
Josh.
